The IBM Tivoli Network Manager 3.7 Advanced course builds on the foundation of the IBM Tivoli Network Manager IP Edition Fundamentals course. This 4-day course focuses on advanced discovery customization. Custom stitchers are created to enhance topological information or to instantiate devices and connections manually. You will learn how to create custom tables within the Network Connectivity and Information Model (NCIM) database. You will also create a custom database to be used for creating custom network partition views. Network fault isolation techniques (RCA) will be explained, and you will learn how to create custom polling definitions and policies.
Pre-sales engineers, system integrators, value added resellers (VARs), and Tivoli Network Manager system administrators who will be required to install, configure, and maintain Tivoli Network Manager.
You must have a system administrator level understanding of UNIX or Linux, including knowledge of network management. You should also have:
- Knowledge of network management, including SNMP and TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network management systems
- The ability to use the UNIX or Linux vi editor and diagnose scripting errors
